KISS validated by Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) India
KISS has been validated by Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) India for a period of three years after a strict process of due diligence.
The validation process involved a close assessment of KISS ‘s organizational & programmatic practices (including basic legal, regulatory & fiscal compliances) through both desk review and site visits.
CAF India is a registered charitable trust set up in 1988 to provide strategic and management support to corporates, individuals and NGOs with an aim to ensure greater impact of their philanthropic and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) investments. The projects pursued by CAF lend rigorous support to marginalised societies in order to improve their socio-economic conditions.
It is part of the CAF Global Alliance with offices in the UK, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Russia, South Africa and the United States of America. Globally, CAF works with over 7,000 companies and manages over £2.5 billion for donors and charities, supporting over 50,000 non-profit organisations and social enterprises in over 100 countries.
It is more interesting as it came at a time when Supreme Court gave a guideline that NGOs and voluntary organisations must give audited accounts of utilisation of central funds. “After all, it is taxpayers’ money” a bench of Chief Justice J S Khehar and Justices D Y Chandrachud and Sanjay Kishan Kaul said. It is a great step towards accountability and and the validation is a testimony to KISS ‘s adherence to these standards.
