Prof. Samanta converted his childhood hardship into his strength to rise tall, not by wealth but by ethical values of life. Envisioning a world where poverty would not stand as a hurdle to one’s education, he single-handedly founded Kalinga Institute of Social Science (KISS), the world’s largest free residential tribal institute, and KIIT, a world class university, with only Rs. 5000 in his pocket. He plans to educate millions of neglected and underprivileged children through KISS, which is now recognised as a model of social transformation through holistic education.
